¡Próspero Año Nuevo Puerto Peñasco!

-by El Gitano Peñasco, "The Peñasco Gypsy"

Can you really believe that 2010 is behind us and that we’re now at the very beginning of 2011? I can’t, because so help me God I swear the 1960’s, when everything was ‘groovy’, were just a couple years back and that by the year 2000 we’d surely be flying around like the Jetsons!

And speaking of time not standing still, that 1960’s was an era (for all you ‘spring chickens’) when we only had three TV stations to watch and they usually signed off every night around 11:00 P.M. And when traveling to and fro between the USA and Mexico ‘The Man’ was no concern and crossing a ‘piece of cake’!

I guess I’m just too old now, but I swear to Buddha that back then the biggest concern was heading to the lake or beach to ‘hang loose’ while waiting for the ‘Submarine races’ to start or heading out on a Saturday night to ‘race for pinks’. And everything else was just ‘primo’ unless the ‘old-man’ got wind of what we were doing!

Young at heart, soul, mind and body, those were ‘nifty’ times and getting ‘jacked up’ meant raising the suspension on our cars, which had ‘glasspacks’ and ‘baby-moons’. Everything seemed ‘far out’ except for those ‘finks’, ‘dorks’ and ‘dip sticks’!

Well ‘dudes’ and ‘chicks’, that was then and this is now. So don’t ‘flip your wigs’, don’t ‘have a cow’ or get ‘bummed out’. Instead, let’s keep breaking out those ‘church keys’ and instead of ‘Bogarting’ those ‘brewskies’ (etc.) let’s have a ‘blast’ in 2011 (and beyond) and as always, ‘power to the people’!

‘You dig’?
