Pay Attention Businesses in Puerto Peñasco!

-by El Gitano Peñasco, "The Peñasco Gypsy"

There is a new game in town, so to speak, that will allow any business here needing to generate new customers to do just that whether those consumers live in PP, are up in or coming from the USA, other parts of Mexico or beyond. So if you want to thrive then get familiar with the following acronyms: SMS, MMS, OMA, 3GPP, GSM, GPRS, IMS y MMA!

In a nutshell what we are talking about here is Mobile Media Advertising (MMA) and the very first thing every business owner in Peñasco needs to know is that the International Data Corp (IDC) is reporting that in the final quarter of 2010, smartphones passed global PC shipments for the first time in history!

That is big news! According to IDC, “vendors shipped a total of 100.9 million smartphones during the fourth quarter of 2010, up 87.2% from the 53.9 million smartphones shipped during 4Q09. For the full year, vendors shipped a total of 302.6 million smartphones worldwide, up 74.4% from the 173.5 million smartphones shipped in 2009."

What is happening in the MMA arena is nothing short of phenomenal and business owners everywhere are cashing in big time as zillions of buyers are all carrying these new (e.g.) ‘androids’ (hand-held) devises etc. enabling all business owners, for pennies on the dollar, to target their ideal (potential) buyers 24/7/365 with special offers, reminders, invitations, video ‘pitches’ and so forth.

In fact, MMA has become so huge that the likes of GOOGLE just concluded their recent “Think Mobile” event in London hosting a capacity crowd as did TechCrunch who held their recent “Mobile First” conference on July 29th, 2011 at the ‘AOL’ auditorium in Palo Alto, CA…

So if your Peñasco restaurant, cantina, taco stand, real estate office, dentist/doctor office, chicken-casa, retail store, fishing business (or whatever else you operate) could use a few extra customers you’ll be well advised to get off your tamales and get in the ‘game’ of Mobile Media Advertising (MMA), like ‘Hoy’, and if you need any help shoot El Gitano an e-mail and maybe…

A Gypsy can always dream!

¡Viva Puerto Peñasco y México!
