Don't Miss the Peñasco Palooza Rock Concert for Charity!

Steve McCarty, of Steve Miller band fame, is bringing members of the Hitmen All-Stars ---a band of famous all-star musicians led by Curly Smith--- to Rocky Point October 15th, 2011!

Mix a group of ultra-famous rockers jamming for charity with the natural beauty of a venue like the popular Mexican beach town of Puerto Peñasco (aka Rocky Point) and you’ve got a potent concoction that should have rock and roll fans clamoring into town from all over the southwest on the 14th and 15th of October. A portion of the proceeds of the show will benefit five local charities that help house, clothe and feed needy families and children in the Rocky Point area.

The superb line up of singer/songwriter/musicians includes F.A.M.E. award winner Steve McCarty performing many of the hits he wrote while with the Steve Miller Band; Curly Smith, producer, lead singer and drummer from Boston; Jimmy Crespo, lead guitarist from Aerosmith; David Lewark, lead guitarist with Sammy Hagar and Eddie Money; Paul McDermand, Steel Drums and Marimba of The Moody Blues fame; Terry Anderson, Sax, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals from Tower of Power; Gary Moon, bassist and lead singer from Night Ranger and Three Dog Night; and Leon Bisquera, keyboardist with Anita Baker and Chaka Khan. Also in the lineup are two popular local bands: Ro.Jo and Riband.

The All Stars will be performing their platinum hits from all these famous bands. Expect timeless hits like Fly Like an Eagle, Wild Mountain Honey (Steve Miller Band), Amanda, More Than A Feeling (Boston), Dream On, Walk This Way (Aerosmith) and many more. When asked about the number of platinum hits represented by these legendary musicians, Steve McCarty, who has about 20 of them, spoke with feeling, “Going platinum was a kick,” he said, “but what’s more important, what touches my heart is that these songs have withstood the test of time. That is the true art. That they have touched so many over so many generations is what is important to me, to all of us.”

Festivities for this two day event begin Friday October 14th with a charity sunset cruise (which is almost sold out), followed by a “Wet ‘n’ Wild Party at Chango’s Bar. The fun continues Saturday morning the 15th with an Open Registration Volley Ball Tourney and Pool Party at the Sonoran Sea Resort Condominiums beginning at 11:00 A.M. until around 3:00 P.M.

Gates for the concert will open at 5:00 P.M. General Admission tickets are $30.00. VIP seating with special after party privileges are available as are room packages with transportation.
