Beach Buzz: Wining, Dining & Playing at the Beach

Bored? Hot? Cranky? Need something special to do in Puerto Penasco to get your juices flowing? Well, here are a few summertime options from local (and nearly local) establishments to brighten up your life. They'd all love to welcome you.

Chango's
Behind the Sonoran Spa and Sonoran Sea, on Sandy beach
From 6:00PM to Midnight

Starting this week (July 15): Every Wednesday night will be discounted appetisers, $1.50 draft beer and Live Mexican Music by RiBand. Every Thursday will be ladies night with Karaoke and $5 pesos draft beer. Come out and dance with your honey on Wednesday and sing with your honey on Thursday.

Plus their regular Friday and Saturday night karaoke until 9pm and then Live Music til the wee hours of the night. At Chango's, mark it on your calendar and say Hi to Mike for us.

Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort
On Sandy Beach

The two fine restaurants at Las Palomas are offering some outstanding weekly specials, as follows:
    At La Maria Bistro: Monday is Sports Night, with outstanding specials on Beer & Wings while you cheer on your favorite teams; Tuesday is Mexican Night, with 2x1 Margaritas; Wednesday is 50% off any drink and Mexican appetizers special. At Restaurant Citron: Thursday night Citron goes Italian with Wine and Cheese Nights; Friday is Cuban Night, with Mojitos and Salsa Dancing on the Terrace; Saturday is Martini Night, with a Prime Rib Special.
And don't forget that on Sunday at Las Palomas you get a complementary Champagne Toast with Sunday Brunch, and EVERY DAY Happy Hour is from 5:00 to 7:00PM with 2x1 Domestic Drinks.

The Thirsty Parrot
On the Malecon in Old Port, past the Fish Market

The Thirsty Parrot has announced its new Summer hours and drink prices in its AIR CONDITIONED restaurant and bar. Draft beer is $1.50, well drinks $2.00. Five flat screen tv's offer a variety of sports and the tunes of Jimmy Buffet, Mark Mulligan and a Reggae mix fill the air. You can't beat that with a stick!

New Summer hours: Open Fri., Sat., Sun. and Mon. from 10:00PM till ??? Closed Tues., Wed. and Thurs.

Further away but worth a trip: If you're up to a little traveling with a great reward at the end of it, head for San Carlos the weekend of July 17 and 18 for the Bands on the Beach concert series.

SonoraIsSafe.com and the business community of San Carlos are pleased to present this concert, which will be held on the La Posada Beach from 5-8 PM. The band: Angel Diamond and the Blues Disciples.

Enjoy the music, dance, have a great time. The concert is FREE and there are many items that will be raffled off during the show including fishing trips, sunset cruises, certificates to swim with the dolphins, room nights in some of the best places in San Carlos, quad rentals, spa packages, lunches and dinners in many of their fine restaurants, t-shirts, hats, etc.
