Run ‘Em Out Of Puerto Peñasco!

-by El Gitano Peñasco, "The Peñasco Gypsy"

It seems not a week passes these past few months whereby I don’t receive e-mail inquiries from people in Texas, New Mexico, AZ, California, etc. asking questions about buying property in Peñasco.

Perhaps real ‘interest’ is building once again, which would be great for the community. But I tell everyone who contacts me that I do not offer ‘advice’ nor do I make recommendations for any agents/companies. Instead I suggest the usual caveats such as crossing all the ‘T’s’ and dotting all the Ojos (LOL)…

And I also tell everyone to especially avoid, like the plague, the ever growing ‘pump and dump’ gang that seem to be resurfacing once again in this fair community.

These agents (and companies, both Nationals & Gringos) are again hyping the novice would-be ‘Mexico’ buyer that Peñasco is destined to be the next Cabo or Cancun, etc. and yet NOTHING, IMHO, could be further from the truth!

Some of these agents (and companies) are also ‘pitching’ what a property sold for during the peak a couple years back and that if the prospective owner will just buy today they’ll be positioned for the inevitable boom that’s ‘just around the corner’, when they can then sell and make the proverbial ‘killing’!

They also tell would-be owners about the price per sq. ft for beach front (or near beach front) in San Diego Vs Peñasco and how the ‘Californians’ are flocking here in droves for a ‘seaside’ retirement community, urging the prospective buyer to step-up now before the prices become out of their reach.

Now I’m no Ebenezer Scrooge but to agents I will only say Bah Humbug! It is time for the ‘good-guys/gals’ in the legitimate real estate business to run ‘em out of town!

¡Viva Puerto Peñasco y México!
