No, not those beautiful glimmering stars that are nearby nor the “300 sextillion” of them light-years away that many of us often love to gaze upon beginning at twilight and lasting through dawn…
I’m talking about those other ‘Stars’ such as Jennifer Aniston, Chelsea Handler, Madonna, A-Rod (Alex Rodriquez) or Cameron Diaz whom the ‘masses’ seem to worship and who were seen visiting different parts of Mexico over the Thanksgiving holidays.
Which naturally got me to start thinking and this time I concluded that is exactly what we need, some heavyweight Star power to come play here, whose mere presence will attract the paparazzi who’ll photograph them and then wire their ‘shots’ the world over making Peñasco the next ‘hot’ spot!
And why not? Look at what ‘Dick’ (Richard Burton) and ‘Liz’ (Elizabeth Taylor) did for Puerto Vallarta or Elvis (and others) did for Acapulco, and what other stars like John Wayne did, whose presence back in the 60’s helped put Cabo on the map (along with the likes of Raquel Welch and Keith Richards, both of whom got married there). Remember that neither Vallarta nor Cabo were 'developed' tourist destinations at the time, and that was part of their appeal to celebrities.
So why don’t we have some ‘Stars’ from Mexico, the US or Canada, etc. come here, too, lying about the beach, hitting the restaurants, shopping, fishing, etc. and then stand back and watch the ‘press’ from around the world swoop in here like Turkey buzzards...
Of course the key would be how to attract some ‘heavyweights’ to come play in Peñasco. Maybe if someone really powerful here contacted a Star's agent and gave them the key to the city for a week's stay that might lure them and their entourage to Peñasco and that would surely help put PP on the worldwide ‘must-see’ vacationing ‘map’…
