Sports for Kids in Puerto Peñasco

As part of what Mayor Zepeda and the City of Peñasco is doing to promote goodwill between our nations through Sports for Kids, for the second year in a row a group of Major League coaches from the United States travelled to Puerto Penasco to teach local little leaguers how to improve their batting, running, fielding and pitching skills.

On Saturday the clinic began at 9am, and brought parents and others in the community out to join the Mayor and other city functionaries to watch approximately 75 children receive instruction of various aspects of the sport. Afterward, local little league officials thanked the coaches by providing a seafood lunch prepared right on the field in honor of the coaches.

Here is a video of the press conference held to introduce the event, with Rosie Glover (of Rocky Point Ramblings) officiating:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. -Mark Twain
