An Apocalypse Clock por Peñasco!

-by El Gitano Peñasco, "The Peñasco Gypsy"

Okay Amigas y Amigos, let’s get ready as there is now a little less than a year before the Mayan prediction of the end of times hits next December. It seems other parts of Mexico are gearing up for a bang up tourist year and Mexico's tourism agency expects to draw over 50 Million travelers who will visit in 2012. Many communities are planning year-long fiestas celebrating the end of the world!

So, since this will be our very last Christmas and Holiday Season and our days are numbered I’d like to see what kind of wild and crazy ideas we can all come up with so that we thoroughly enjoy our remaining time here on planet Earth and in this wonderful nation of Mexico.

So, since this will be our very last Christmas and Holiday Season and our days are numbered I’d like to see what kind of wild and crazy ideas we can all come up with so that we thoroughly enjoy our remaining time here on planet Earth and in this wonderful nation of Mexico.

Maybe one such crazy idea could be to touch base with all the Mexican breweries and remind ‘em they ain’t takin’ nothin’ with them so they might as well lower the retail price of their Cervezas to 6 Pesos for all us locals and visitors to Peñasco in 2012.

In return, we’ll all promote their ‘brands’ to everyone on our websites, etc. and declare our community to be the last best Fiesta and continuous ‘Final Days’ Hora Feliz of all time that nobody would want to miss!

That would surely attract some travelers! And then we could lower the prices on other stuff like all those tasty fish tacos, fishing trips, motel/hotel accommodations, shopping, dining etc. and make coming here for the end times to be the most attractive and inexpensive place in all of Mexico to visit so that even people from (e.g.) Missouri would sell the farm just to travel here and spend, spend and spend while they soak up their last days.

And then, on the off chance that the world doesn’t end next December (2012) we’ll have a huge crowd of people already in town and ready to kick off the next Christmas and Holiday Season. It would be a win-win situation for everyone here in Peñasco!

So if you have any ideas share them with us; and if you don’t that, too, is fine and I’ll close this week wishing you all a heartfelt Feliz Navidad to all!

A Gypsy can always dream!

¡Viva Puerto Peñasco y México!
