Can you believe this marks the 21st show for RCPM and Circus Mexicus in Rocky Point? And here's an indication of how it has grown over the years: This year's event (and it IS an EVENT!) will be attended by people from at least 36 US states and 7 countries (Canada, England, Germany, Mexico, the Netherlands, Thailand, and the USA)! So far, advance ticket sales are on pace to match 2007's sales, which is a very encouraging sign for Rocky Point! You can get more information (and advance tickets) at http://www.azpeacemakers.com/
This year, RCPM wants more Mexican residents of Puerto Peñasco to participate in the fun, too. To that end, local Mexicans can buy discounted $15 tickets to the Saturday concert at Wrecked At the Reef, as long as residents present their local Mexico ID when picking up their tickets at Will Call.
The festivities will officially kick off on Friday, June 8 at 5:00 pm with the traditional Hot Dog and a Smile BBQ, at JJ's Cantina, organized by RCPM drummer PH Naffah with proceeds going to La Casa de Esperanza para los Niños. Hungry fans pay whatever they feel like in money and/or goods to this children's home, and they have been very generous over the years. Your contributions are important, so dig deep!
In addition, there will be 5 bands playing all night at JJ's, headlined by Jim Dalton and Sons Of Bill. There is a $10 cover charge at the door or fans are encouraged to buy all inclusive discounted tickets in advance including both Friday and Saturday night concerts at www.peacetimegoods.com
On Saturday morning, June 9, you can enjoy Roger Clyne’s 3rd Annual Rock and Beach Soccer Tournament, co-hosted by Wrecked At the Reef. Proceeds will go to the Larry D. Large Foundation which funds various endeavors that improve the quality of life for the citizens of Rocky Point.
The really big show starts at 6:30 pm when Sons of Bill open the festivities with an acoustic show. From 8pm – midnight Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers take over for the main event.
And on Sunday, June 10, those who can still stand up straight (or crawl) can reconnect with friends (and keys) and enjoy another full day of music FOR FREE at the traditional Mañanathon back at JJ’s Cantina.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you can get away a day early, you can work your way into the general excitement with some FREE rock 'n' roll at Wrecked at the Reef on Thursday, June 7. For your listening pleasure, at 9 pm Jason Boots www.jasonboots.com (from Los Angeles, CA) will perform and at 9:30 Shurman www.shurmanville.com (from Austin, TX) will take the stage.
